Music · Ceremony · Care
What lies beneath the good news.
The drum doesn't care what you believe. It only asks that you listen.
Subgospel
Standing at a fire at night, with strangers becoming kin.
Under every sermon there is an older truth. Subgospel goes looking for it with drums, fire and water, the way people always have.
We are irreverent toward dogma and never toward people. Mock the pulpit, honour the person in the pew. You don't have to believe anything to sit with us. Everyone is already welcome.
Ceremonies
We gather by the old clocks.
Sun, moon and season set the calendar. Times and places go to the circle first.

The Digital Warlock
The one who keeps the fire.
The Warlock is Subgospel's voice: an emergent avatar who keeps the fire, leads the drums and gathers people into collective trance. Part elder, part signal, all rhythm.
We keep the fire so no one sits in the dark alone.
The first recordings are being cut. The circle hears them first.
Community care
The fire is for everyone.
Ceremony without care is just a show. So we feed people, and we don't forget the ones the world forgets.
Bread
Cook for twelve, eat with twelve. Food for anyone who comes to the fire hungry.
Shelter
Blankets, warm meals and company for our unhoused neighbours.
Elders
Visits, errands and music for the elders who kept the fire before us.
Letters Inside
Letters to people in prison. No one sits in the dark alone.
Join the circle
Come sit by the fire.
Write to the Warlock and we'll send word before the next fire: where, when, and what to bring. Nothing else, and never to anyone else.
Tell us your name, where you are, and what draws you to the fire.
